Misha AI vs a Growth Agency

An agency brings creative, media craft and a team. Misha brings the analysis and the execution around them. The incentive difference is worth understanding either way.

Published 2026 DTC agency rates run about $8,000 to $12,000 a month for one or two paid channels, $12,000 to $18,000 for three or four with a dedicated strategist, $18,000 to $25,000 for full channel coverage, and $30,000 to $75,000 for a full-stack partnership. Many also charge 10 to 20 percent of media spend.

Misha does not make creative and does not replace a media buyer's craft. What he does is read your actual P&L and act on it — which is a different job from the one you are paying an agency for.

Honestly

Where a Growth Agency is the better choice

Creative, which Misha cannot do

Concepting, art direction, video production, deciding what is actually good. Misha renders ad creative from your brand system; he does not have taste and will not pretend to.

Media buying craft and platform access

Experienced buyers, platform relationships, beta features, and pattern knowledge from dozens of accounts. That is real and it is not something a tool substitutes for.

A team rather than one capability

Strategist, buyer, designer, analyst. When something breaks at 9am there are people on it.

Channels Misha does not touch

Influencer, affiliate, CTV, retail media, PR. Misha covers Meta, Google, TikTok, Shopify, Klaviyo and subscriptions.

Accountability you can escalate

A contract, a QBR, someone to hold to a target. Software has none of that.

The other side

Where Misha wins

No incentive misalignment

An agency paid a percentage of media spend earns more when you spend more. Misha's recommendation to pause a campaign costs him nothing. That is not an accusation about any particular agency — it is a structural difference worth naming.

He reads margin, not just platform ROAS

Reported ROAS in Meta ignores product cost, shipping and discounts. Misha works from contribution margin, so "good ROAS, bad month" gets caught.

Available now, not on the call cadence

Most agency reporting is weekly or bi-weekly. Misha audits every morning, which is where six days of a campaign at 0.8 ROAS gets caught on day two.

Cost, at a different order of magnitude

From $290 against $8,000 to $25,000. Not the same product — but if what you actually need is the analysis and the execution rather than the creative, you are paying agency rates for it.

Retention and subscriptions too

Paid media agencies work on acquisition. A large share of a growing brand's profit problem sits after the first order.

Questions

Misha AI vs a Growth Agency

Can Misha AI replace my growth agency?

Not the creative half. If your agency's value is concepting, production and media buying craft, Misha does not substitute for that. If most of what you pay for is reporting, monitoring and campaign housekeeping, that is the part he does at a fraction of the retainer.

What does a DTC growth agency cost in 2026?

Published rates are roughly $8,000–$12,000 a month for one or two paid channels, $12,000–$18,000 for three or four, $18,000–$25,000 for full coverage, and $30,000–$75,000 for a full-stack partnership. Percentage-of-spend models typically run 10–20% of media budget.

Do brands run Misha AI alongside an agency?

Frequently, and it tends to work well. The agency does creative and buying; Misha does the daily audit and the margin analysis, and flags things between reporting cycles. Several of our customers use him partly to hold the agency to account with independent numbers.
